PowerPoint lets you turn your presentations into videos

If you want to share business information with your audience, a common method is to create and share a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. Today, video is increasingly recognized as a fast and effective means of enterprise communication.

How can you have the best of both worlds? Share your presentation with colleagues and customers, while letting it play as a video.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 features an option to save your presentation as a video, that allows you to publish video presentations with animations and narration. Here’s how:

  1. After you create your presentation open the File menu and click Save & Send.
  2. Under Save & Send, click Create a video
  3. Customise settings to optimise the video for Computer and HD displays, Internet & DVD or for portable devices.

You can even record and add narrations to a slideshow and can turn your mouse into a laser pointer.

Try playing around with the options to find the best setting that suits you. A simple setting that can come in handy!

The next time you create a presentation, you have the option to easily convert it into a video and maybe post it on your internal enterprise video portal – making it easier for your audience to revisit your presentation at their convenience. And if somebody missed it, no problem! They can watch it on their own schedule. The possibilities are endless.
