San Bruno, CA – Oct 28, 2014 – Video content has become an integral part of the modern business environment. Managing it and incorporating it into collaborative spaces and workflows is now a necessity for many businesses. With this in mind, Qumu (NASDAQ: QUMU), the leading business video platform provider, today announced the availability of their integrations with IBM’s Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform, adding to their broad set of IBM-related capabilities.
Capture, Publish and Manage Video within IBMs ECM Solutions using Qumu’s FileNet Content Manager and Content Navigator Integrations
IBM’s flagship ECM repository, FileNet Content Manager, manages a wide variety of content types and related metadata as well as the security, permissions, retention, and disposition surrounding them. IBM’s Content Navigator provides a robust user experience for working with managed content of any type that includes teamspaces and workflows for working with active content. The Qumu integration with IBM’s ECM platform also enables enterprises to properly manage video content as part of their broader information governance initiatives. Qumu provides a wide array of video tools to help ECM and Content Navigator users securely create, share and discover information faster and better.
Based on Qumu’s new REST APIs, Qumu developed the integration with IBM Premier Business Partner, Gemini Systems, who are experts in the IBM software portfolio. “Empowering FileNet Content Manager and Content Navigator with video will give users a rich tool set to use video in a wide range of new ways,” says Evan Herbst, Senior Vice President, Gemini Systems. “From mobile video capture to secure publishing, adding Qumu’s enterprise video platform functionality to FileNet and Content Navigator will deliver tremendous benefits.”
Qumu provides integration with FileNet Content Manager and Content Navigator on several levels. By seamlessly integrating Qumu’s Video Control Center (VCC) platform with FileNet Content Manager and Content Navigator, users are able to create, upload and store video to their content store with approved metadata and organizational structures, taking advantage of encoding and transcoding capabilities for video processing. The integration also allows for publishing of videos from FileNet Content Manager to the VCC to make viewing and browsing videos easier. Users can also take advantage of the Qumu player’s speech search within the context of Content Navigator, enabling them to search for spoken words inside individual videos and across libraries of videos to find information faster and more easily than ever before.
Within the general workspace of Content Navigator, video players and browsable video libraries can be embedded for a user-friendly video viewing experience for both live and on-demand video content. Qumu Quick Capture is also available in Content Navigator, empowering users with the ability to capture, edit and share videos directly from their teamspaces.
“At Qumu, we integrate with a wide array of IBM solutions such as IBM Connections and WebSphere Portal,” says Vern Hanzlik, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Qumu, “and our integration with the IBM ECM platform further solidifies our belief that video should be easily accessible everywhere across your organization.”
