Qumu Corporation Establishes Qumu Japan to Accelerate its Enterprise Video Solution Business in Asia

Minneapolis, MN – September 22, 2014 – Qumu Corporation (NASDAQ: QUMU), the leader in enterprise video content management, has established Qumu Japan Co., Ltd in Japan as its Asia Pacific business hub to accelerate its growth in Japan and the rest of the Asia Pacific region.

Fujitsu Limited and Internet Initiative Japan Inc. Have Both Deployed the Qumu Solution in Japan

Two Japanese IT companies – Fujitsu Limited and Internet Initiative Japan Inc. – as well as a major Singaporean company have already adopted the Qumu solution. Fujitsu Limited has deployed the Qumu platform for large-scale internal live and on-demand video communications.

The Qumu video platform provides a comprehensive video solution helping enterprises better engage their employees, partners and clients by enabling them to create, manage, and distribute video internally and externally, on desktop and mobile devices. The Qumu solution is optimized for global enterprises with large-scale enterprise video performance, redundant configurations, enterprise-level security, analytics, and integration with the rest of their infrastructure. Use cases include corporate executive messaging, intra-company training and presentation, and video conference archiving.

The enterprise video market is gaining momentum globally. Video’s use for communication and collaboration is expanding as video-enabled devices gain in popularity. Qumu is well established in the U.S. and European markets, and has been selected as an industry leader by global industry analysts including Gartner, Forester Research and Frost & Sullivan.

Qumu Japan is committed to introducing and expanding the cutting-edge enterprise video solution to customers in Japan. “We see demand growing for video by employees, partners and clients in today’s global business environment,” said Sherman Black, CEO of Qumu Corporation. “Qumu Japan is a key step for us to deliver better service to our customers in Japan and the rest of Asia.”

“Qumu Japan has been established to deliver Qumu’s video solution in Japan and Asia Pacific,” said Yoshihiro Oyamada, CEO of Qumu Japan. “High market growth in the U.S. and Europe demonstrates the value video can provide in enterprises. We see the potential for similar growth in Japan and Asia Pacific. Companies in these regions face the same challenges in making video as easy to use as other document types. We look forward to serving our customers in Japan and Asia Pacific by delivering solutions to these issues.”

“Fujitsu Limited would like to extend its warmest welcome to Qumu Japan Co., Ltd,” said Takahiko Kouketsu, Head of the IT Strategy Unit of Fujitsu Limited. “We made the decision to adopt Qumu over several video solution system candidates because of its expertise in large-scale live broadcasting, their cutting edge technologies including video Speech Search, and compatibility with our internal management systems and portal. We are committed to transforming the Fujitsu work style with enhanced access to information via the enterprise video platform. Our use cases include large-scale live broadcasting and internal training across the group companies, as well as using it as our intra-company global communication system.”

“Internet Initiative Japan Inc. is happy to see Qumu further expanding their solution and support to Japan and Asia Pacific,” said Kazuo Seki, Manager of Business Infrastructure Reformation and Internet Initiative Japan, Inc. (IIJ). “Our on-demand video delivery solution is based on Qumu’s platform. We expect to leverage it to generate sales, enhance our service offerings and improve communications for IIJ employees worldwide.”
