Qumu and V-cube partner in Japan and APAC region for enterprise video

San Bruno, CA, September 2, 2016Qumu (NASDAQ: QUMU), the leader in enterprise video, today announced it entering a strategic partnership with V-cube, Inc. to provide enterprise video content management solutions across Japan and the Asia Pacific region. V-cube has been the market leader in Japan for web conference systems for the past nine years.

As part of this partnership, V-cube, Inc., headquartered in Tokyo, will work with Qumu Japan Co., Ltd., the local subsidiary of Qumu Corporation, to provide strategic distribution of the industry-leading Qumu enterprise video platform across Japan and the Asia Pacific region.

“Qumu is a global player which has developed video solutions that satisfy the high-level needs of security and internal content management and delivery that enterprises require; its solutions help businesses gain competitiveness by sharing information via video,” said Naoaki Mashita, Founder and CEO of V-cube, Inc. “Going forward, we believe the needs of enterprises will drive the merging of two business areas: interactive visual communication, the strength of V-cube; and video content management for enterprise, the strength of Qumu.”

“Partnering with a leader like V-cube opens significant opportunity for Qumu in Japan and Asia Pacific, said Vern Hanzlik, president and CEO of Qumu. “We are confident that working together, we can provide even more value to our partners and customers with video communications solutions that are secure, scalable and easy to use.”

V-cube expects this partnership to reduce their development cost for content management; they plan to localize Qumu solutions, which lead the industry and are valued by customers; the solution will be deployed in both Japan and other Asian countries.

V-cube will enhance its competitiveness by leveraging their highly available current services that provide in-company communications such as employee training or information sharing. By providing strong support to Qumu Japan’s existing partners and customers, they will also aim to expand the enterprise video market and to gain significant share.

V-cube will also develop new solutions integrating the two companies’ services. Exploiting their cloud service sales force in Japan, V-cube will assertively promote service partnerships with overseas companies that are seeking Japanese market entry and advanced B2B solution development.

Background of partnership

The way enterprises work is being transformed by new communication technology. The spread of tablet devices and smartphones and expanding IT services are driving communication without time or distance barriers; companies, especially the biggest businesses, are eager to use these tools to enhance corporate information sharing and to improve their business efficiency and competitiveness. Visual communication services and video content management solutions must be integrated well to support related needs such as managing network loads, security, simple content creation, and video delivery based on individual user needs.

Details of partnership

  1. Sales expansion of the Qumu video content management solution
V-cube will work with Qumu Japan, the local subsidiary of Qumu in Japan to provide strategic distribution of Qumu solutions. Leveraging the business infrastructure of V-cube, Qumu Japan will enhance existing partner sales, develop new solutions, installation support and customer service.

By aligning the two companies’ services and solutions, V-cube aims to generate an enterprise communication platform covering real time communications such as Web conferences, web seminars, video content editing, HR employee training, and corporate message delivery.
