In a recent study by Virtual Reality Check (VRC) one of the world’s leading expert analysts on Virtual Desktop Interfaces (VDIs), IT professionals from around the world were surveyed on their experiences with VDIs in their corporate network. When asked what was currently the biggest challenge within their VDI environment, the highest response was user experience in WAN or high latency environments and the second? The second was UX and performance with rich media including graphics, audio and video.

As video use increases both in everyone’s daily lives as well as within the enterprise, it’s becoming more and more important to ensure that video can be viewed by anyone, on any device, anywhere within an organization. Historically it has been difficult to serve up high quality video through VDIs due to size and bandwidth constraints. The worse the video quality, the worse the user experience and the less impact video has on end users.

According to Forrester Research, employees are over 75% more likely to watch a video over reading documents, emails or articles. Providing high quality video to your employees through VDIs, then, is a crucial part of getting information to your employees no matter where they are.

That’s why Qumu developed the Video Optimization Pack for industry-leading VDI infrastructures Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop. In the past year since it’s release, companies all over the world have implemented the Video Optimization Pack and are bringing high quality video to employees through VDIs. As the world becomes more connected than ever before it’s never been more important to have clear, quality communications through any environment. Citrix and Qumu are bringing that world closer together.

Find out how some Qumu and Citrix customers are using the Video Optimization Pack to supercharge video within their VDI environments.
