MARKETING

Web Marketing Manager

SUMMARY

Qumu is looking for a hardworking web developer with great web production skills and a strong sense of clean design. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to create HTML web content independently, develop HTML email campaigns and operate in a wide variety of display options. This position requires a utility player with strong creative abilities, design skills, technical savvy, great attention to detail, and proven expertise in web development and email marketing who desires to challenge the status quo in using video as a key media. Demonstrated portfolio of work is essential.

You will be responsible for implementing the ongoing development of the company's public website (qumu.com) and interaction with Salesforce.com and Eloqua. You will also be responsible for performing day-to-day site development, setting company standards for design, performing navigation and browser compatibility, performing quality-control for third party content, and maintaining and developing small web applications, including use of video as a key component of the overall web marketing strategy. Video players utilized on the website include Flash, WMS and Silverlight. Additional responsibilities will include document web best practices and write maintainable code with lots of comment tags, assist in development of a new look and feel for web sites, update all content, assist in the redevelopment and maintenance of the Intranet and advise staff and outside agencies on how to best optimize their content for online deployment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Development and day-to-day maintenance of web content
Designing and quickly implementing clear, effective web pages
Creation and optimization of web images for download efficiency and clean design
Optimization of video content in Flash and/or Silverlight players with auto-play settings
Production operations of marketing HTML email campaigns
Act as main point of contact to field a variety of web-related requests across departments and synthesize feedback from multiple sources
Fulfill several project requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
Act as project manager for website redesign projects

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should ideally have a mix of skills in these areas, or ability to self-learn in a rapid fashion.

Experience implementing and maintaining web content
Expert HTML/CSS/PHP skills (2+ years of experience with HTML 3.2/4.0 at the tag level)
2+ years of DHTML, COM and client-side JavaScript programming experience
Working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Apple Final Cut
Strong scripting and database skills, including Perl/CGI, MySQL, and JavaScript
Thorough knowledge of browser compatibility issues for all platforms/major browsers (mobile handset experience a plus)
Experience in a Unix and Windows 2003/2008 environments
Experience utilizing video in various formats / players (Flash, H.264, MPEG-4, Windows Media, Silverlight, Quicktime)
Keen eye for clean UI implementation and knowledge of website design best practices

ENGINEERING

Senior Web UI Developer / Designer

SUMMARY

Qumu is seeking an experienced and creative UI developer to fulfill a technical lead role in the User Experience team. In this role, you will act as both a UI engineer and web designer of Qumu products and take advantage of your expertise to deliver engaging and dynamic web user experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and develop User Interfaces for complex web applications including the design and implementation of web page templates and macros.
Define the UI design and user interactions for new and existing Qumu products and features.
Develop early high-level or detailed prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and user interactions
Employ your skills with the latest dynamic web 2.0 technologies (AJAX) to develop engaging, dynamic user experiences
Work with video and web technologies including video capture, encoding, delivery and viewer presentation of video and other digital content
Strong teamwork, leadership and communication with product development teams including Product Managers, User Experience designers, UI and Software platform engineers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Expert skills and knowledge in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, XML/XHTML and thorough understanding and experience in building dynamic web UI technology utilizing AJAX components based on Dojo, YUI, Adobe Flash/Flex
Working knowledge and skills in using web design tools including Adobe Creative Suite: Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and/or Illustrator
Demonstrated experience in all phases of web application development from initial concept and product requirements to design, development, testing and release deployment
Solid academic background in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction or related field (BS or MS required)
Strong, clean visual design sense

QA Engineer

SUMMARY

As a QA Engineer at Qumu you will be working on leading edge webcast Enterprise Video Communication (EVC) solutions. Your role will be to verify new features being developed in a simulated enterprise environment with encoders and distribution systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and implementation of lab configurations to simulate deployment scenarios
Together with other engineers creating a test harness for automated tests
Writing test plans and test cases for new product releases
Coding (scripting) automated tests
Manual testing, analyzing results, filing bug reports
Working with software developers and tech support engineers to resolve problems
Providing technical support to the customers when required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Proven skills developing effective test plans and test cases
Good understanding of contemporary QA principles, methodologies, and techniques.
Minimum of 2+ hands-on QA automation experience.
Minimum of 3+ hands-on overall Software Quality Assurance and testing experience.
Experience testing Web-based Java applications, Web GUI applications
Experience working with Java application servers such as JBoss,WebSphere,WebLogic
Good System Administration skills, ability to create and support QA lab environments
Good knowledge of Windows and Unix, TCP/IP networks and IIS

Software QA Manager

SUMMARY

As QA manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of QA engineers and developing processes to ensure delivery of high quality Qumu Enterprise Video Communication product suite. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, creative, experienced manager excited about new product creation and developing cutting edge QA processes and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and motivate team of QA engineers
Develop automation suite for all aspect of testing from regression to functional Define test phases and execution plans for each phase, ensuring that the methodology is followed throughout the release cycle
Write test cases and test plans
Perform hands-on software testing
Develop tracking metric and report status and progress on a regular basis
Manage interoperability testing lab
Define and maintain project plan, schedule and timeline for the various test cycles
Understand and perform risk mitigation to meet deadlines
Work with customer support team to help recreate customer scenarios

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years as software QA Manager
Strong background in software engineering, test frameworks, and automation
Industry experience coding in C/C++ and/or Java
Proven experience QA automation and knowledge and hands-on experience with open source test automation tools

Senior Java Software Engineer

SUMMARY

As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will be a key decision-maker and contributor on an EXPERT team of developers, creating a robust, highly-scalable, leading-edge media application. You will define requirements, design and lead implementation of significant application modules.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Proven track record creating and maintaining production quality J2EE Web applications
Strong hands on experience developing and deploying J2EE applications on application servers such as JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic
Expert level experience with Java 5/6 and J2EE technologies such as JMS, JNDI, JDBC, JAXP, Web Services
Experience developing complex UI in JSP and Servlets, good knowledge of Web UI frameworks such as Spring MVC or Struts- Experience with Ant, Maven
